Along these same lines you must research fundraising costs that are allocated to "program costs". This is also referred to as “Joint Costs” and can include accounting actions that purposely pool educational campaigns and costs with those of “fundraising”. These “joint costs" may mask a charities real fundraising costs. The bottom line is do the math and if you find the ratio to be too high then once again you and your selected cause may be better served by finding a charitable organization that more closely reflects your wishes for how your money is designated and allocated.
